Committed to providing thorough training and comprehensive education, graduates are given a solid foundation and essential tools to become highly qualified and knowledgeable yoga educators. As this training is based and expands upon the Yoga Alliance Standards of Training, SamsaraSukha School of Yoga is recognized as 200-Hour Registered Yoga School: · Techniques Training and Practice: Guided practice as well as a comprehensive approach to learning how to practice and teach yoga asanas, posture modifications, pranayama, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, other traditional yoga techniques and introductions to Yoga Therapeutics, Prenatal Yoga, and Restorative Yoga. · Teaching Methodology: Principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, sequencing, qualities of a teacher, the student’s process of learning, business aspects of teaching yoga, and applying your skills as a yoga teacher. · Anatomy and Physiology: Human physical anatomy and physiology and subtle anatomy and physiology. · Yoga Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers: History of yoga, yoga philosophies, yoga teacher lifestyle and ethics including nutrition, sustainable and organic living, and introduction to Ayurveda. · Practicum: Practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback, and giving assists in classes taught by others. Practice, practice, practice. There will be plenty of practice, teaching and otherwise.
Training Schedule & Options 200 Hours. Yoga teacher training consists of 180 hours in-studio and a minimum 20 hours of “homework,” which includes required reading of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Translated by Sri Swami Satchidananda and The Key Muscles of Hatha Yoga by Ray Long, MD, FRCSC and assigned journaling, nature walks, social silence, etc. Recommended reading will be provided.
How will you complete your training? · Small Group Training. This training consists of eight weekend modules and four small group yoga classes. Weekend modules meet Fridays 1-6 pm or 5-10 pm; Saturdays 9 am-5:30 pm; and Sundays 9 am-5:30 pm. The 2012 modules are held April 20-22; May 18-20; June 15-17; July 20-22; August 17-19; September 14-16; October 19-21; and November 9-11. · One Teacher, One Student. Traditionally, yoga was taught and passed down from teacher to student. This option blends old-school tradition with the modern day convenience of scheduling flexibility. Tuition, Discounts & Payments Tuition for the yoga teacher training is $2,300, which includes all contact hours and one weekly yoga class at the studio for the duration of the training. A minimum of four small group yoga classes is required as part of the training. · $100 non-refundable application fee; applied towards tuition, payable with submission of Yoga Teacher Training Application · $1,000 deposit due one week prior to start date · $600 due at 30% completion of training · $600 due at 40% completion of training · DISCOUNTS: $150 for application received one month prior to start date AND/OR $150 for fully paid tuition received one week prior to start date. Discounts only apply to Small Group Training.

Certification Upon completion of the training, students earn their Certificate from SamsaraSukha School of Yoga and are eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance at the Registered Yoga Teacher 200-Hour Level (RYT-200). In a marketplace that is growing larger every day, registration with Yoga Alliance declares fulfillment of educational requirements and commitment to continuing education and ethical standards (please refer to Yoga Teacher Training Application or www.yogaalliance.org). |
